International Garden Festival~August 17,2024

The annual International Garden Festival at the International Botanical Gardens of Peace in Jordan Park is gearing up, and this year, it will take place on August 17, 2024 (times to be confirmed: 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.). (Folk dances and a French song will be presented to represent France), All welcome, it is free, bring your chairs and blankets to enjoy the program.  Address: 1060 S 900 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84104 (More information will be posted soon).

Regarding the French garden, it has suffered vandalism like many other gardens over the years, and we would like to restore it to what it used to be. It would seem best to plant to avoid theft or graffiti.

Currently, the city’s Parks and Recreation maintains the gardens, and plants flowers in the spring and bulbs in the fall each year, but nothing structural. All plans/propositions must be brought up to them for prior approval and paid for by third parties, through donations or other contributions.

So we are looking for ideas and funds. We can also submit preferences for which flowers are planted each year.

We are approaching all local French communities, to find out if anyone would like to be involved, whether it be with donations, services or ideas.

In the meantime, we invite you to discover these gardens if you don’t know them yet, knowing that the Spring flowers should be planted by Tuesday, May the 14th.
